Naples – A gun and bullets were found in a public housing project: the Carabinieri seized the weapon.
Military personnel conducted extensive checks in the Pianura neighborhood on the western outskirts of the city.
Carabinieri from the Naples Bagnoli branch recovered a 9mm pistol with a forged serial number. The magazine contained seven rounds, but another magazine, 15 9x19mm rounds, three 7.65mm rounds, and 31 9x21mm rounds were also found in the hiding place. Ballistic tests are underway on the weapon and the bullets.
The military also conducted extensive street checks and, in collaboration with the NAS (National Anti-Corruption Police), inspected numerous businesses. The owner of a pastry shop was issued a warning for several irregularities.
Overall, the Carabinieri identified 46 people, checked 27 vehicles, and also reported the drug users to Prefecture 2.

This situation in Naples is very worrying. The Carabinieri are right to patrol the streets, but I hope that residents can also feel safer. Guns and bullets in working-class neighborhoods are never a pleasant sight.
