Naples Police Headquarters continues its relentless efforts to combat drug dealing and trafficking in the city center. Yesterday morning, officers from the General Office and Public Aid arrested a 23-year-old Algerian national for illegal drug possession.
The operation began in Vico Gabella alla Farina, in the Piazza Porta Nolana area, during a territorial patrol. The officers noticed the young man in the company of other people. As soon as he caught their eye, the man quickened his pace and quickly ran away, attempting to escape.
The suspicious reaction didn't go unnoticed. Officers intervened immediately, catching up with and arresting the fugitive. During the search, the 23-year-old was found in possession of 96 grams of hashish, concealed on his person.
The young man was placed in handcuffs. The arrest is part of the extraordinary operations implemented by the Naples Police Headquarters to monitor the city's most sensitive areas and curb drug dealing.

It's important to continue these checks, but we must also consider the underlying causes of drug trafficking. It's not just a police problem, but also a social and economic one.
The Naples police headquarters' controls are essential in combating drugs, but some arrests can be controversial. We hope the situation improves and more operations are carried out to prevent these problems.
