Yesterday, in Porta Nolana, the State Police arrested a 63-year-old man accused of smuggling and drug dealing, finding over 200 kg of contraband cigarettes and 417 counterfeit euros in his home. This operation highlights the intensified surveillance of organized crime in the area.
Yesterday, the State Police dismantled a complex criminal network in the Porta Nolana area, arresting a 63-year-old Neapolitan man accused of smuggling, drug dealing, and counterfeiting.
The operation led to the seizure of a large quantity of illicit goods that the man was keeping inside his home.
The Police Operation
Officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid raided the 63-year-old's apartment during a local inspection. What they found left little doubt about the nature of the suspect's activities: a veritable warehouse for illicit trafficking.
The loot from the kidnapping
The operation's results are significant. Investigators found 1.042 cartons of foreign manufactured tobacco (TLE) weighing approximately 208 kilograms, presumably destined for the black market. But that's not all.
Hidden in the home was a bag containing approximately 260 grams of cocaine, ready to be released onto the drug market. Also seized were €1.300 in cash, believed to be the direct proceeds of the illegal activities, and a trove of counterfeit banknotes: a total of €417.000 in various denominations, presumably counterfeit.
The man now faces multiple charges: smuggling of foreign manufactured tobacco, counterfeiting, spending and introducing counterfeit or altered currency into the country, and the unlawful possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. The charges outline a structured and diversified criminal activity.
The 63-year-old was arrested by the operating personnel and is now at the disposal of the Judicial Authorities.
