Portici, the attempted escape on a scooter betrays the pusher: 19 grams of narcotics and over €2.250 seized. The 20-year-old Neapolitan man was jailed.

The vain escape in Piazza Poli

During a routine check in Piazza Poli, officers from the Portici Police Station intercepted Dario Russo, a 20-year-old from San Giovanni a Teduccio with a serious criminal record: a specific criminal record for illegal possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.

The boy, riding a scooter, accelerated at the sight of the police in an attempt to escape. He was pursued and stopped, and was searched on the spot.

Hashish and "dirty" money in the scooter

Seven packages of hashish, totaling approximately 13 grams, ready for sale, were found on the young man, along with €250 in banknotes of various denominations. These were suspicious amounts, typical of illicit trade. The investigators, with strong grounds for further crime, didn't stop there.

Home search: hiding place discovered

The team extended their searches to Russo's home in San Giovanni a Teduccio, where they found approximately 6 grams of the same narcotic substance and a much larger sum: €2.000, also in mixed banknotes. These findings confirm ongoing drug dealing activity.

It seems to me that the situation in Portici has become very serious. Even though this young man was arrested, more controls are needed to stop drug dealing in general and beyond. It's a serious problem.
