Benevento – A 76-year-old businessman lost his life this afternoon following a helicopter crash in the Olivola district of Benevento.
The victim is Pasquale Esposito, originally from Airola, who was on board the aircraft at the time of the accident. The helicopter was piloted by VR, a 68-year-old Neapolitan, former president of the Benevento Aeroclub and a former colonel in the Italian Air Force.
The pilot, an instructor with extensive experience flying helicopters, was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital. His condition is considered critical.
Esposito, a freelancer and entrepreneur, had previously held managerial positions in the telecommunications sector. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
The acting Public Prosecutor of Benevento, Gianfranco Scarfò, arrived at the scene of the tragedy and is coordinating the investigations launched to reconstruct the events of the fall and determine any culprits.
