Torre del Greco — The first snow of 2026 presented a rare spectacle to residents of the slopes of Vesuvius and tourists visiting Naples.
After a night of heavy rainfall and a brief hailstorm, the volcano awoke completely covered in white, offering a striking sight visible even from the metropolitan city.
The day began with skies clear of clouds and mist, allowing many to enjoy the spectacle of the snow-capped "mountain." There was no shortage of tourists eager to immortalize the moment with smartphones and cameras, transforming Vesuvius into a natural stage for shared memories.
The sudden drop in temperatures made the early hours of the morning particularly cold, especially in the higher areas.
According to forecasts, the day should pass without further precipitation in the Vesuvian area, but the weather conditions are expected to worsen further in the next few days, with further rain and possible snowfall.

The first snow of 2026 was truly beautiful, but also a bit cold. Tourists seem happy, but I think it's important to be careful with these low temperatures and the ice on the ground.
