A man was arrested in Salerno after being caught in possession of a modified, fully functional blank pistol, along with the relevant ammunition. The operation was conducted by Carabinieri officers from the Salerno Carabinieri Operations and Mobile Unit during a territorial patrol aimed at preventing and suppressing crime.
During a search, officers found the suspect's possession in the form of a modified weapon, transformed into a potentially lethal weapon, along with .380 caliber ammunition. Possession of the weapon and bullets led to his immediate arrest on charges of illegal possession of weapons and ammunition.
The weapon and ammunition were seized for further technical investigation. This operation is part of the Carabinieri's efforts to monitor the area and combat the illegal circulation of weapons, which is often at the center of incidents of urban violence.
