Carabinieri from the Sant'Antonio Abate station executed a precautionary warrant issued by the preliminary investigations judge of the Torre Annunziata court at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, placing a 37-year-old man from Salerno under house arrest.

The man, now incarcerated in his home in Fisciano, is accused of stalking, revenge porn, and attempted extortion against a former partner.

The investigation, coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office and conducted by the military, has uncovered serious evidence of guilt. The suspect, through repeated and habitual behavior, allegedly harassed and threatened the woman with whom he had a romantic relationship, causing a persistent state of anxiety and forcing her to completely change her lifestyle.

He is accused of revenge porn and stalking

The investigation revealed further chilling details: the man allegedly blackmailed the victim by threatening to release sexually explicit images of her. Failure to do so was conditional on the payment of a sum of money. When the woman refused, the photos were sent to acquaintances of the victim, thus constituting the crime of revenge porn.

After completing the formalities, the arrested man is serving his pre-trial detention in Fisciano. The investigation continues to determine any further culprits.

It's incomprehensible how a person could resort to such acts, especially in a relationship. Victims of these situations deserve greater protection and support from the competent authorities, and we must also reflect on the causes that lead to such extreme behavior.
