San Giorgio a Cremano – A routine traffic check turned, in the middle of the night, into an anti-drug operation that resulted in an arrest.
Carabinieri officers from the San Giorgio a Cremano station arrested 23-year-old Pasquale Borrelli, a familiar face to law enforcement, on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
The operation began on Via San Martino. Officers, on patrol, ordered the young man to stop while he was driving. While checking his documents, the young man's behavior prompted the Carabinieri to investigate further: a personal search led them to find the first doses of hashish and marijuana, concealed on his person.
The investigation quickly moved from the car's interior to the 23-year-old's home. It was there that the Carabinieri officers' suspicions were confirmed: the house search uncovered nearly 52 grams of hashish, along with various materials used for weighing and packaging the doses, a clear sign of a structured drug dealing operation.
Borrelli, born in Massa di Somma in 2002, was immediately placed under arrest. After the usual formalities, the young man was handed over to the judicial authorities and is now awaiting trial under the fast-track procedure.
