Forio – It was supposed to be a day of celebration, music, and conviviality to bid farewell to the last day of the year, but Forio's New Year's Eve ended in the worst possible way. Between excessive toasts and sudden tensions, the afternoon of celebrations turned into a series of violent incidents that required the intervention of the police.
The most serious incident occurred around 5:30 PM on Via Marina. For what are described as trivial reasons, a bottle was thrown from one of the tables occupied by the participants, hitting the person sitting opposite on the head. This incident sparked a fight involving several people, generating moments of high tension among the crowd.

Carabinieri officers already engaged in public order operations immediately responded to the scene, coordinated by Captain Giuseppe Giangrande, commander of the Ischia Company, with the support of the Forio municipal police. The intervention quickly brought the situation under control. However, almost simultaneously, a second brawl broke out on Corso Francesco Regine, which was quickly quelled by the officers present.
In light of the incidents, the municipal police decided to shut down the brunch and all other ongoing activities, putting an end to a day that had previously seen Forio overrun by thousands of people. A celebration marred by the inability of some to manage alcohol and enthusiasm. Now, they await possible measures, including urban bans, against those who transformed a moment of social gathering into scenes of unjustifiable madness.
