San Vitaliano – Night of fire in via Troise, in the heart of the industrial area of San Vitaliano: a lorry used for transporting goods was engulfed in flames around 2.00am, alerting residents and emergency services.

Carabinieri from the Sant'Anastasia station responded promptly to the scene of the fire, which was extinguished by firefighters from the Nola detachment without any injuries or damage to nearby structures.

Signs of flammable accelerants were found on site

The vehicle, a heavy-duty truck owned by a local logistics company, was reduced to a charred wreck. Initial on-site investigations do not rule out arson: firefighters found signs of flammable accelerants, while the Carabinieri are acquiring images from surveillance cameras in the area and interviewing witnesses to reconstruct the incident.

The investigation, coordinated by the Nola Public Prosecutor's Office, aims to clarify the cause of the fire, which may be linked to corporate disputes or criminal contexts typical of the Nola plain. Further investigations are ongoing, including technical inspections of the vehicle.

It's strange that such a large fire could break out in an industrial area without anyone noticing. The investigation should be conducted carefully to determine whether there was human fault or simply an accident.
