In an important event like the Sanremo Festival nothing can be left to chance, every detail is carefully analysed to ensure that the long event is a success in the best possible way even if, naturally, like the "Murphy's law" teaches, the unexpected is always around the corner, especially when it comes to a long live television broadcast. However, since the most important thing at the festival is the song, special care is taken to prepare the competing songs as best as possible through a demanding backstage process.

This phase, fundamental and far from the cameras, precedes the entrance on stage of theAristonThe 30 "Big" artists and the "New Proposals" will be performing with the orchestra for the first time. It is at this point that the compositions are tested, refined, and take on their final form, and the Festival really comes to life. The backstage work began exactly one month before the festival's opening, January 24, 2026, and required five days of intense rehearsals to best prepare the performers and orchestra.

After a break, Carlo Conti, a longtime acquaintance of Rai audiences, will return to host the festival. He will be joined by Laura Pausini, in her first experience co-hosting with Conti. The choice of the prestigious singer as co-host was made to engage audiences less inclined to follow an event that has always maintained a certain connection to tradition, especially a young and diverse audience.  After all, Pausini is at home at the Ariston, her debut in the world of music with a capital M dates back to the 1993 edition.

The Sanremo Festival is also very exciting for the world of bettors and Sanremo winning odds Fedez and Masini are the likely winners with odds of 4.50. Tommaso Paradiso is hot on their heels at 6.50, followed closely by Ermal Meta and Sayf at 8.00. There are 30 big names competing, including some of the most iconic names in Italian songwriting history, such as the timeless Patty Pravo. After a few years away, Arisa also returns to the Ariston, a more mature version than the one we saw at the beginning. The Masini and Fedez duo, on the other hand, are an interesting pairing, a temporary partnership that combines different styles and sensibilities.

Alongside the big names, this year too, there will be a "newcomers" section, chosen through a careful selection process in the Sanremo Giovani and Area Sanremo selections. The 2026 Sanremo Festival will maintain the traditional five-evening format. The voting system will be a mix of televoting, votes from the Press Jury (which includes TV and web), and votes from the Radio Jury, with varying weights on the different evenings. All the accompanying television events will also be confirmed, such as the PrimaFestival and After Festival, which will precede and follow the evening shows live from the Ariston Theatre.

The most significant change for the 2026 edition concerns the programming: the Festival has been moved to the end of February. This decision was made to avoid clashes with the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, which will take place in the weeks immediately preceding it.

The article talks about Sanremo and its songs, but it seems to me that there are too many things that need fixing. Pausini is not only a singer but also a talented presenter. Let's hope everything goes well.
