Sant'Antimo – What was supposed to be a quiet Monday evening near the Villa Comunale turned into a brutal attack. A 34-year-old man with no criminal record was the victim of a violent beating by two individuals, who are currently being identified.

According to an initial reconstruction by the Carabinieri, still being examined by investigators, the victim was approached by the two attackers while she was near the city's public park.

The raid apparently wasn't motivated by criminal activity, but rather by simple motives: a word too many, or, more likely, an unwelcome glance. A tiny spark that triggered a reaction of unprecedented violence.

The 34-year-old was rushed to the emergency room of San Giuliano Hospital in Giugliano, where Carabinieri officers arrived that evening to take his statement. Doctors found his medical condition to be serious: head trauma, multiple injuries, and several fractures. He was discharged with a 14-day prognosis.

The Carabinieri of the Sant'Antimo station immediately began an investigation to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the incident and track down those responsible. The officers may be examining footage from local surveillance cameras, which are crucial in identifying the two attackers who fled immediately after the beating.
