Naples – The dispute that has agitated employees at the Santobono-Pausilipon AORN for the past few weeks has ended with an agreement. General management and the FP CGIL, CISL FP, UIL FPL, and FIALS unions have reached an agreement that puts an end to the workers' protests.

The protests were sparked by the company's decision to close the internal parking lot to allow for seismic retrofitting of the facility, without initially providing alternatives for staff. After a heated debate, culminating in the symbolic occupation of the health management offices, the company backtracked.

The measures of the agreement

The agreement includes a significant increase in employee refreshment allowances, the designation of designated rest areas for vulnerable staff, and greater flexibility in starting shift hours.

"We express deep satisfaction with this outcome that restores value to the staff's work," says Antimo Morlando, Secretary of Public Health for the Campania branch of the FP CGIL. "When genuine dialogue is conducted, the conclusions are always positive for the entire hospital community. Management has responded to our requests by allocating significant resources and providing specific protections for our most vulnerable colleagues."

Morlando emphasized that the battle was not about "partisan interests, but rather the operational serenity needed by those who provide care and assistance to children throughout Campania."

The agreement reached is good news for workers, but there are many things I'm not sure are fully clarified. The parking and shift issues are complicated, and I hope everyone is satisfied.
