Scampia is transforming and investing in green regeneration. On Thursday, January 15th, at 10:30 a.m., Comparto H on Via Zuccarini will host the "Microforest Party," the official event marking the birth of the Scampia Community Microforest. This isn't just an environmental project, but a genuine process of social reappropriation of public spaces in one of the most challenging neighborhoods of the Neapolitan metropolis.
A project between environment and society
The initiative stems from a shared vision to transform degraded areas into oases of biodiversity accessible to residents. The project, supported by an institutional and scientific network, represents a model of "grassroots urban planning," where the planting of new trees becomes a tool for mending the social fabric and improving residents' quality of life.
The audience of authorities
The inauguration is expected to be attended by the city's highest officials and project representatives. The mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, and the councilor for green spaces, Vincenzo Santagada, will be present, demonstrating Palazzo San Giacomo's commitment to the suburbs.
Alongside them were Mariateresa Imparato (President of Legambiente Campania), Sandro Scollato (CEO of AzzeroCO2), and the President of the VIII Municipality, Nicola Nardella. Also crucial was the academic contribution of Professor Adriana Oliva of Luigi Vanvitelli University, a partner and co-financier of the project.
