Frosinone – Tense moments erupted at dawn this morning along the A1 motorway between Ceprano and Frosinone, where violent clashes erupted between Lazio and Napoli fans.

The alarm was raised in the early hours of the morning, when several people, with their faces covered and armed with sticks, were reported fighting each other on the northbound carriageway.

State Police officers responded to the scene, but by the time patrols arrived, the clashes had already disappeared. According to initial investigations, the confrontation involved a group of Lazio supporters returning from the away match in Lecce and Napoli fans heading to Turin for that evening's league match against Juventus.

A Highway Police patrol reportedly witnessed the brawl directly near the Pofi junction. The vehicles used by the fans, mostly minivans, then continued their march past Anagni, pursued by Highway Patrols and patrol cars.

During the clashes, several cars parked at the Macchia Est service area were also damaged. Law enforcement has launched an investigation to identify those responsible and reconstruct the exact circumstances of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.

It's a shame that these things happen. I mean, the fans should behave better and not get into such violent clashes. The police should be more present to prevent things from getting out of hand like today and protect everyone.
