Naples – The safety of residents and tourists is a top priority for the city administration led by Gaetano Manfredi. This was reiterated by Teresa Armato, Councilor for Tourism and Productive Activities, in a statement reviewing the actions undertaken by the City in recent months to strengthen surveillance and prevention in the area.
Since the government took office, awareness campaigns have been launched, new supervisory roles have been created, and specific resolutions on safety have been approved. Specifically, the campaign targeting non-hotel facilities has led to the regularization of 400 businesses, which have obtained the National Identification Code (CIN). This result is further enhanced by the regularization effect resulting from the CUSR, the single certificate of safety and regularity.
At the same time, the work of the recently established Tourist Police has led to the closure of numerous establishments that did not meet the legal requirements for habitability and safety. To strengthen their presence in the area, the number of Municipal Police units has been increased, especially on weekends and during peak tourist periods.
Among the measures adopted is a resolution regulating the serving of alcohol within certain hours. Councilor Armato emphasizes her commitment to continuing collaboration with other agencies responsible for safety and appeals to business owners and entrepreneurs, especially those managing nightlife venues: "We ask you to actively collaborate, adopting all necessary measures to protect the young men and women who frequent these venues, from emergency exits to the enforcement of regulations to protect their health."

The article is informative and well-written, but there are several questions about how security is being addressed. Some measures appear insufficient, and one wonders whether all this will actually lead to a tangible improvement in everyone's safety.
