Somma Vesuviana, a bloody night after the toast: two young men stabbed in the street, the motive remains unclear.

The attack on Via Vignarelli dampens the party atmosphere: the victims, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, were hospitalized urgently but their lives are not in danger. The Carabinieri of Castello di Cisterna are conducting a thorough investigation to reconstruct the circumstances.

Somma Vesuviana – From New Year's Eve celebrations to street terror, a New Year's Eve marked by violence unfolded in Somma Vesuviana, where New Year's Eve ended with a double stabbing, shrouded, for now, in the utmost mystery.

The alarm was raised in the middle of the night on Via Vignarelli. The flashing blue lights abruptly interrupted the echo of the fireworks when the Carabinieri from the local station, supported by their colleagues from the Castello di Cisterna operations unit, rushed to the aid of two injured youths. Two very young men, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, were found on the ground, struck by gunshots.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are still being unraveled and have the appearance of a mystery. It's currently unclear whether the attack erupted after a heated argument, perhaps due to the alcohol from the celebrations, or whether it was a genuine punitive attack.

Investigators are maintaining the utmost confidentiality and are examining every avenue, not excluding any hypothesis.

The two young men were immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. Despite their fear and injuries, doctors ruled out any life-threatening injuries, although they remain under close observation.

The Carabinieri have launched their investigation, starting with surveys at the scene of the shooting. Testimonies from residents or video surveillance footage in the area, which may have captured the attackers' arrival or escape, could prove crucial. It remains to be seen what happened in those tense minutes on Via Vignarelli and who wielded the weapon that turned a night of celebration into a crime story.

Reading about what happened in Somma Vesuviana, I think that nights of celebration should be safer. It's sad to know that young people find themselves in such dangerous situations. I hope this situation is clarified.
