Cava de' Tirreni – A hail of gunfire transformed a residential street into a scene of terror. Yesterday, on Via Prolungamento Marconi in Cava de' Tirreni, a restaurant and event business owner was targeted while outside. For a fraction of a second, the man managed to duck for cover, avoiding being hit by the bullets.
According to an initial reconstruction by officers from the Flying Squad and the local police station, the shots came from a passing car, which soon disappeared. Some bullets shattered the windows of a parked car, leaving holes and shrapnel as evidence of the violence of the attack.
The businessman, unharmed but in shock, has already been interviewed by investigators. The main lead police are pursuing is that of a demonstration and intimidation, a "gunshot" intended to send a threatening message. The investigation is now focused on identifying the vehicle used in the attack and reconstructing the dynamics and possible motives.
