Naples – A night of fear in the alleys of the Spanish Quarter, where a 22-year-old man was injured by a gunshot. The incident occurred late yesterday evening on Via Santa Maria Ogni Bene, near number 26.
According to the reconstruction of the Carabinieri of the Naples Central Company, who intervened on the scene together with the military of the Scientific Investigations section, approximately ten shell casings were found on the asphalt, evidence of a particularly violent shootout.
The victim, Ciro Basile, born in Naples on July 4, 2003, was rushed to Pellegrini Hospital. The bullet, which had struck him in the right buttock, was removed by paramedics. He was subsequently discharged with a ten-day prognosis.
The circumstances and motive for the attack remain unclear. Investigators are not ruling out any avenues and are gathering video surveillance footage and witness statements to help identify those responsible.
