Pontecagnano – The man believed to be responsible for the attempted murder that occurred on December 9th in Pontecagnano Faiano has been arrested on suspicion of crime. The arrest warrant, issued by the Salerno Public Prosecutor's Office, was executed by Carabinieri officers from the Battipaglia Company following an investigative effort that allowed them to reconstruct the details of the attack.

According to the investigation, coordinated by the judicial authorities, the suspect—for reasons still under investigation—fired several shots at another person, seriously endangering their life. The incident raised serious alarm in the area, prompting immediate investigations.

During the execution of the arrest warrant, the Carabinieri found and seized approximately 2,5 grams of hashish, a precision scale, and drug packaging materials. Most importantly, two firearms were found inside a bag: a semi-automatic pistol and a revolver, both with their serial numbers removed and ready for use.

In light of the findings, in addition to being arrested for attempted murder, the man was also arrested in flagrante delicto for possession and receiving of illegal weapons. His position is now being examined by the judicial authorities, who are continuing their investigations to clarify the motive and verify any possible connections to other criminal incidents in the area.
