From January 5th to 7th, the 16th-century church of Santa Maria di Portosalvo (Naples) will be the setting for “Approdi di Natale,” a free-entry event combining live entertainment, music, and storytelling, focusing on the themes of hospitality, inclusion, and community.
A project organized by Culturadice, Pred Ets, and Putéca Celidonia, promoted and funded by the City of Naples as part of "Altri Natali 2025," which includes three main events: a powerful emotional story, an immersive experience of sound and memory, and a musical journey, culminating in a contest and a live evening dedicated to young talents.
The event kicks off on January 5th (20 pm) with "Voices from an Alley," a scenic narrative curated by Putéca Celidònia, which transforms the company's artistic and social history into a performance. The narrative explores experiences gained in assets confiscated from organized crime, workshops with children, and work done in prison, creating a journey that highlights how art can become a tool for connection, awareness, and change. The performance is an act of collective restitution, capable of embodying the themes of inclusion and social regeneration, and of providing the audience with a sense of community that is rebuilt through culture, listening, and presence.
On Tuesday, January 6th, at 4:00 PM, the "Esposti Experience" will take place. An immersive experience combining podcasts, original music, and memory, it will transform the sacred space on Via Alcide de Gasperi into an emotional and narrative haven. A journey back in time inspired by the history of the Ruota degli Esposti and the memory of the Real Casa Santa dell'Annunziata in Naples, among the symbolic places of the city's social history. The program draws on and reimagines the narrative universe of "Esposti," a podcast series conceived and directed by Simone Esposito, who also wrote the first four episodes. The fifth episode, produced by Pred Ets and produced with the patronage and collaboration of the City of Naples, Cultura Napoli, and the Real Casa Santa dell'Annunziata, interweaves archival research, documentation, and contemporary language to "restore a voice" to stories that have often remained invisible. The podcast's narration is entrusted to actress Miriam Candurro, who plays Sister Costanza and becomes the emotional thread of the story. Among the core elements of the experience is the sound dimension, with singer-songwriter Gabriele Esposito contributing to the construction of the imagery with the song "Nu' Ricordo Luntano," the project's musical heart and recurring theme, enhanced by the participation of master violinist Andrea Libero Cito. The sound design and original music are by Tommy Grieco.
The grand finale will be on January 7th at 8:00 PM with "Suoni di Accoglienza," an event curated by musician Gabriele Esposito. For the occasion, he will present a new show, developed from a contest open to young talents, regardless of nationality or origin, who will perform songs and lyrics inspired by the themes of acceptance, interreligious dialogue, and social inclusion. This journey is more than just a performance: the selection and mentoring of the young artists, followed by rehearsals and preparatory meetings, will become a real moment of training and intercultural exchange, culminating on Wednesday evening with a group performance inside the evocative church of Santa Maria di Portosalvo.

This event looks interesting and resonates especially with the theme of hospitality, which is so important today. I hope to attend, although I'm not sure I'll be able to find the time.
