Naples – Ischia and Procida are isolated. The two islands in the Gulf of Naples are cut off from sea connections due to a violent storm, with gale-force westerly winds of up to 40 knots and storm surges exceeding three and a half meters.
Since last night, weather and sea conditions have rapidly deteriorated, making safe navigation impossible. All connections have therefore been suspended: hydrofoils to Marina Grande in Procida, Ischia Porto, and Forio have been stopped in port, and ferry services to and from Porta di Massa and Pozzuoli have also been halted.

Some departures had been made in the early morning, but the progressive worsening of the situation forced a total halt until at least the early afternoon. Given the forecasts, which do not indicate an imminent improvement, it is very likely that the suspension will continue throughout Saturday.
Shipping companies advise anyone who needs to travel to check call centers and websites in advance to confirm the actual resumption of operations, depending on the evolution of the storm.

It's a shame the islands have been isolated for so long; people need to move around. Let's hope the situation improves soon, otherwise there will be a lot of inconvenience for those who need to travel.
