Torre del Greco – They attempted to uproot the ATM by driving a car through the bank window, but the attempt failed. The hunt is on for the perpetrators of the overnight raid on the Banca di Credito Popolare branch in the Sant'Antonio neighborhood.
It was around 3 a.m. when an Alfa Romeo, later found to be stolen, was used as a battering ram, reversing into the bank's entrance. After the impact, the criminals got out of the vehicle and attempted to steal the ATM, but were unsuccessful.
Given the resistance of the structure and the time that was running out, the group gave up, fleeing and disappearing before the police arrived.
The Carabinieri responded to the scene, began an investigation, and acquired surveillance camera footage to identify those responsible.
The military also found some traces inside the car that could quickly lead to tracing the occupants, especially if they have criminal records and are therefore registered.

The heist: four pallets vanished in a matter of hours. A scam straight out of an '80s movie, with a meticulously planned plan and a staggering haul.
