Naples, January 15, 2026 - The exhibition will be open until Sunday 25 January Totò and his Naples, The unprecedented exhibition celebrating the deep and inseparable bond between Totò and Naples on the occasion of the celebrations for the 2500th anniversary of the founding of Naples.
The exhibition, which will stop in New York in the spring, is promoted by the Neapolis 2500 National Committee Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Royal Palace of Naples (Ministry of Culture),with the participation of the Totò's heirs, With the collaboration of Rai Teche e Luce Historical Archive.
The project is curated by Alexander Nicosia e Marino Niola and is organized and produced by COR Create Organize RealizeIn addition to the remarkable number of visitors, the exhibition was striking for its uniqueness, proof of a popularity undiminished by time and that transcends genres and generations. Many Generation Z kids challenged each other to see who could best remember the lines from the various films of the prince of laughter. It's as if Totò never died. A wonderful response was also provided by foreign visitors, proving that Totò's art speaks to the world like Chaplin's, transforming Naples into a region of the soul where one feels at home by choice, not by birth.
Furthermore, the photographs on display and the film sequences shown gave rise to a series of moving exercises in memory among many Neapolitans, who recognized the city as it was, comparing it to the present. In short, what emerges from the exhibition is that, beyond being a tutelary deity of the Neapolitan imagination, it has become an icon of Italianness around the world, a flag for Italians on every continent. A summation of the many virtues and few flaws of our national character.

The Totò exhibition is very interesting and certainly attracts a large audience. But, in my opinion, there should have been more information about Totò's films and life, so that even young people understand his impact on Naples.
