A 33-year-old woman died on December 27 at Pineta Grande Hospital, where she was hospitalized in critical condition after being brutally attacked by her ex-partner. The man, a Nigerian citizen living in Castel Volturno, was arrested on charges of femicide.

The attack took place on the afternoon of December 22, but according to investigators' reconstruction, the spiral of violence had already begun in the preceding hours.

The first assault and the house break-in

On the morning of December 22nd, the man allegedly went to his ex-partner's home and broke a glass door to gain entry. Once inside, he attacked her for the first time. The woman, a compatriot of his age, also lived in Castel Volturno.

After this first episode of violence, the man reportedly returned to his home. Shortly thereafter, the woman, already injured, joined him. Some witnesses reported seeing her with a knife in her hand, a fact that has not yet been officially confirmed by the investigation.

The fatal beating

Once reunited, a violent argument broke out between the two. During yet another confrontation, the man grabbed the wooden handle of a broom and struck the woman multiple times, particularly on the head. The injuries sustained, particularly a severe head trauma, proved fatal.

The screams alerted neighbors, who called the police. Police officers arrived on the scene and found the woman lying on the floor in a pool of blood in the man's apartment.

The rush to the hospital and the death

Emergency medical services rushed her to Pineta Grande Hospital, where she managed to identify her ex-partner as the perpetrator of the attack before losing consciousness. Her condition immediately appeared desperate: on December 23, she was placed in a medically induced coma.

After four days of agony, the 33-year-old woman died on December 27th. At that point, the Prosecutor's Office upgraded the man's arrest to a charge of femicide.

The minor child and the intervention of social services

The tragedy now also raises a sensitive social issue. The victim had a six-year-old son. The child was located by the police and entrusted to a man who claimed to be his father, but who apparently had a different surname. This circumstance necessitated further investigation.

The municipal social services were immediately involved and took action to ensure the minor received adequate care.

Nigerian Immigrants and Events in 2025!
Tragic events that always seek sensation with misleading headlines!
In Italy, femicides have been steadily declining for years, despite the media hype and social alarmism (which generates business)!
…regardless of that I hope this beast stays locked in a meter for the next few years!

Fabio Mellino well... discomfort is in fashion... they're the ones who ask for it and I don't mind at all... everyone is responsible for their own choices.
Too many good men alone

I've always been against violence against women, but women seek out rough, brutal men. Then, when they see that the brutal man is doing it to them too, it's too late. The brutal man now considers her his property, like money. The laws that exist never help a man in the event of a divorce, even without children. If a woman wants to change, she can do so and be supported by whoever she's with, because if she's divorced, she's no longer anything to the man. He's single, and she's not. Even if there are children, they go to someone who can support them, unless he's violent with them. Only then do the children go to the other party with child support.

This story is truly tragic, but I don't understand how the man could have acted this way. Violence is never the solution, and there are always serious consequences, especially for the children who suffer.
