NAPLES – Caught rummaging through a parked car, he was stopped by several residents and then arrested by the State Police. The incident occurred in the Capodimonte area, on Vico Sant'Eframo Vecchio, where a 50-year-old man from Genoa, with a criminal record, including for specific offenses, was arrested on charges of aggravated theft.
The operation began yesterday evening after a tip-off reached the Operations Room. Officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, who were patrolling the area, quickly reached the indicated location, where several people had already stopped the man, who had been caught shortly before stealing from another parked car.
Upon seeing the police, the 50-year-old was finally apprehended. During the search, he was found in possession of a backpack and a display that had just been taken from a parked vehicle. The stolen goods were recovered and returned to their rightful owner. The man was arrested, while investigations continue to determine whether there are any other suspects in the area.

The Capodimonte incident is a clear example of how important public safety is. But I wonder, are there really so many thefts in this area? And what do law enforcement agencies do to prevent similar situations? It's worrying.
