Rome – Inter fans will be banned from away matches until March 23. This decision was made by Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi following the serious riots that broke out last Sunday during Cremonese-Inter, a Serie A match played on February 1st in Cremona.
The Ministry of the Interior explains that the measure prohibits travel for Nerazzurri supporters and blocks the sale of tickets for the affected matches to residents of Lombardy. The aim is to "ensure the protection of public order and safety, preventing the recurrence of incidents that could compromise the smooth running of sporting events."
The Milan-Inter derby on March 8th has been excluded from the ban, "as it does not involve fan attendance." The affected matches include next Sunday's match in Reggio Emilia against Sassuolo, as well as those in Lecce and Florence.
