Naples – Tomorrow, February 13th, at 4:30 PM, a declaration of intent will be signed at the Prefecture in Naples to ensure the inclusion of disadvantaged local workers in the reclamation and regeneration projects in the Bagnoli-Coroglio area.
Prefect Michele di Bari will attend the ceremony, along with the Government's Special Commissioner for Reclamation, Invitalia, the Municipality of Naples, and the Greenthesis Temporary Consortium (RTI).
Birth from the Territorial Discussion Table
The agreement stems from a roundtable discussion launched in 2023, which gathered input from local committees and associations. The discussions highlighted critical issues related to the local labor market, justifying the use of mechanisms similar to "social clauses" given the disadvantaged local context.
Commitments for a Territorial Pact
The Special Commissioner will promote a shared Territorial Pact to promote the employment of disadvantaged workers, as has already been achieved with hiring in the neighborhood by contractors. The Pact will also address training, creating a pool of local professionals ready for employment.
Manfredi's words and concrete commitments
"The reclamation and regeneration of Bagnoli represents an opportunity for employment and social development for the area," stated Special Commissioner and Mayor Gaetano Manfredi. The Municipality is committed to providing the RTIs with the results of the profiling days and to verifying funding for professional training (EU, national, or regional). Greenthesis, in turn, will prioritize the profiles of disadvantaged workers identified during the profiling sessions organized by the Municipality with employment agencies.

The initiative seems interesting, but it's important that it's executed well. There are many people in need of jobs, and I hope there are no delays or problems in the process. The training must be adequate.
