From house arrest to prison on charges of manslaughter. A turning point in the investigation into the death of Mario Capobianco, 68, who died following a violent attack in Benevento on January 24th.
Armando Mercurio, 38, was previously under house arrest and was issued a precautionary custody order by the investigating judge of the Benevento Court following an investigation conducted by the Carabinieri and coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, headed by Gianfranco Scarfò.
According to investigators' reconstruction, on the evening of January 24th, the suspect attacked Capobianco during a domestic dispute. The assault occurred in a matter of seconds but with extreme brutality: repeated punches to the head, even when the victim was already down.
Rushed to the San Pio Hospital in Benevento, the pensioner had been admitted with a critical prognosis. His condition remained critical until his death last Saturday, after weeks of hospitalization.
The man's death has aggravated the situation of the 38-year-old, who is now charged with manslaughter. The most severe measure was imposed in light of the evidence gathered by investigators and the prosecution's case outlined during the investigation.

This article discusses a very serious incident in Benevento, but I don't understand how such things can happen. People should be more responsible and try to resolve conflicts without resorting to violence. It's sad to know that a fight can end so tragically.
