Benevento – The autopsy began yesterday on the body of Mario Capobianco, the 68-year-old who died in the past few hours, while the suspect Armando Mercurio was transferred to prison for manslaughter.

Autopsy assignment awarded

Yesterday, the hearing for the autopsy assignment regarding the death of Mario Capobianco, 68, originally from Benevento, was held before Public Prosecutor Carmine Pignatiello at the Benevento Courthouse.

The Prosecutor's Office has appointed medical examiners Dr. Sica and neurologist Pezzella to conduct the tests. The victim's family, assisted by attorney Vittorio Fucci, has appointed Dr. Teresa Suero and Dr. Pierluigi Vergineo as expert witnesses. The suspect, Armando Mercurio, 38, represented by attorney Vincenzo Sguera, has appointed Professor Pietrantonio Ricci and Dr. Gennaro Beneduce.

Mercury behind bars

Also yesterday, Mercurio was transferred to the Benevento prison. This follows the change in the legal classification of the crime to manslaughter, with the associated precautionary measures.

The ongoing investigation could lead to further evidence, potentially escalating the charge to a more serious form of homicide.

Times for the relationship

The autopsy has already begun. The prosecutor has given 60 days to file the final report.
