He failed to stop at a police checkpoint and began a reckless escape through the city's busy streets, ending only after a chase, a crash, and an attempt to escape on foot. The perpetrator of the incident was an 18-year-old Neapolitan man, already known to law enforcement, who was arrested on charges of assault, resisting a public officer, and criminal damage.
It happened yesterday evening, when officers from the Vasto-Arenaccia Police Station, engaged in territorial control, noticed a car speeding along Corso Meridionale. Upon seeing the patrol car, the driver, instead of slowing down, stepped on the accelerator, ignoring orders to stop.
From that moment, the chase began. The young man continued his pursuit, endangering the safety of other motorists with reckless maneuvers and sudden changes of direction. The chase continued until Calata Capodichino, where he took the wrong turn, ending with a collision with two parked cars.
Despite the accident, the 18-year-old attempted a last-ditch move, abandoning the car and attempting to disappear on foot. However, the police caught up with him and arrested him after a brief struggle, managing to secure him. At the end of the operation, he was placed in handcuffs. He will now face the charges before the judicial authorities, while further investigations into the incident are ongoing.

I don't understand why the young man did all this. He could have just stopped and talked to the police. Sometimes things can be resolved more calmly instead of creating problems and risking so much.
