This is the picture emerging from the death of 42-year-old Carla Ribeiro, found lifeless in her home in Pozzuoli on the morning of Sunday, February 22nd. Her body was discovered by her husband; attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful.
In the hours that followed, investigators from the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office placed a friend of the victim, a 52-year-old Peruvian woman also residing in the city, under investigation. The alleged crime is death resulting from another crime, a situation that allows them to determine whether criminal conduct may have indirectly led to the fatal event.
The last night together
Investigations revealed that the woman under investigation spent several hours with the 42-year-old between Saturday and Sunday, making her the last person to have seen her alive. According to initial forensic findings, she died during the night from cardiac arrest, with no external injuries consistent with assault.
Deputy Prosecutor Roberta Simeone has ordered an autopsy with toxicology tests to determine whether the victim had been intoxicated or otherwise intoxicated. The expert report is scheduled for February 27.
