Caserta – A nightmare of violence, segregation, and demands for money reaching as far as Nigeria. In the early hours of this morning, Carabinieri officers from the Casal di Principe Company dealt a severe blow to foreign organized crime by executing a detention order against two Nigerian citizens.
The charges are serious: kidnapping for the purpose of extortion, robbery, and personal injury, all aggravated by the mafia method.
The shadow of the "Eiye" over the Caserta area
The operation, coordinated by the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA), is part of a complex investigative effort that began in October 2022. The two arrested men are believed to be affiliated with the "Eiye," one of the most feared Nigerian criminal organizations, known for its hierarchical structure and ferocious methods.
The investigation had already reached an important point in February 2024, when another member of the gang was arrested for the same crimes.
The kidnapping and the blackmail
The core of the investigation concerns the brutal kidnapping of a Nigerian citizen. According to the military's reconstruction, supported by wiretaps and technical equipment, the suspects held the compatriot captive, demanding €1.500 from his family, who live in Nigeria, for his release.
During his imprisonment, the victim was not only deprived of his liberty:
Physical violence: The man was attacked and injured.
Robbery: His cell phone was stolen to prevent him from having external contact.
Intimidation: After his release, the victim was threatened with deadly retaliation if he decided to file a complaint, leveraging the intimidating power of the clan to which he belonged.

The article discusses a very serious situation in Caserta, but I don't understand how people can do such brutal things. Justice must be more severe to stop these terrible crimes.
