Tensions erupted in the Caserta area during a State Police raid in the municipalities of San Marcellino and Cesa, where four Albanian nationals were living with their families. They were accused of being part of a gang specializing in burglaries and robberies.
The operation, coordinated by the Caserta Police Headquarters, involved the deployment of nearly one hundred officers, who simultaneously surrounded the homes of the four suspects to execute the arrest warrants.
Escape attempts and violent reactions
Despite the massive deployment of forces, the raid was marked by escape attempts and violent resistance.
One of the suspects managed to escape by climbing onto the roofs of surrounding buildings, while another physically attacked the intervening police officers in an attempt to avoid arrest.
The extreme gesture: jumping from the first floor against the officers
The most critical moment occurred in San Marcellino. Here, a relative of one of the suspects, also Albanian and of imposing build, leaped from the first floor of his home at the officers who were on the ground, ready to arrest him.
The impact injured five officers, fortunately not seriously.
The attempted cover and the failed escape
According to investigators' reconstruction, the act was intended to create confusion and allow one of the alleged robbers to escape. However, the attempt was unsuccessful, thanks to the immediate response of law enforcement.

The article describes a very complicated and dangerous situation, but some things are unclear. Why were there escape attempts? And why did a relative decide to attack the officers?
