The fourth edition of "Green Energy Revolution," the educational campaign promoted by Legambiente in collaboration with green companies, returns to Campania. This year, it will involve 16 schools across the region's provinces. The project aims to combine environmental and technological innovation, orienting younger generations toward green jobs and raising awareness of sustainability and the energy transition.
"Campania is already a leader in the ecological transition," explains Mariateresa Imparato, regional president of Legambiente, "and putting green jobs front and center means reviving the employment and environmental challenge. We're focusing on education, guidance, and active policies to support this just transition, strengthening scientific, technical, and digital skills."
The program includes educational programs with workshops, laboratories, guided tours of the facilities, citizen science activities, and innovative tools such as ebooks, comic strips, and agreements with institutions and businesses. The fourth edition focuses on three main areas: combating gender stereotypes in STEM disciplines, promoting equality in green jobs, and enhancing the connection between innovation and sustainability.
The data confirms Campania's strategic role in the green economy: with over 50.900 eco-investing companies from 2019 to 2024, the region is the leading one in Southern Italy and stands out for its growth in green jobs, rising from 3.100 in 2014 to 152.390 in 2024. Female participation in the sector is growing, from 12,5% to 37% of employees, with the aim of ensuring greater inclusion in innovative supply chains.

I think the initiative is interesting for young people, but I hope green jobs can truly grow in Campania and not remain just words. Schools must do more to educate on these issues; it's important.
