Casapulla – At 11:44 a.m., a 43-year-old man living in Casapulla, in the Caserta area, contacted the Operations Room of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Police Station and announced his intent to commit suicide. Married and with two children, the man confessed to being in serious financial difficulty, to the point of having built a dangerous household device using a gas stove.

Listening and rapid intervention
The operator on duty immediately began empathetic listening and telephone mediation, gathering essential information about the residence. Once the address in Casapulla was identified, a State Police patrol responded to the scene.

Rescue and medical care

The officers managed to gain access to the home and speak with the man, convincing him to desist. Transported to the hospital by emergency personnel, the 43-year-old is now under medical observation. The incident highlights the importance of emergency services in managing extreme personal crises.
