Torre Annunziata – An unlicensed mechanical workshop was seized today in Torre Annunziata, near Naples, and the owner was charged with unauthorized waste management. The operation, aimed at environmental protection, was conducted by the local police, led by Commander Gianluigi Palazzo, in collaboration with the Italian Army.

The checks are part of the "Land of Fires" initiative, organized by the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety, chaired by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari. During the targeted operations, municipal officers, supported by the military, identified the illegal garage and immediately seized it.

The owner will now be charged with illegal waste management, while the business remains under lockdown pending further investigation. This action confirms law enforcement's commitment to combating environmental crimes in the Oplonti area.

The operation conducted by local police and the army is important, but there are numerous problems in waste management, and not just in mechanical workshops. A broader plan is needed to resolve the problem permanently.
