What was supposed to be a Sunday of sports and cheering turned into an unacceptable scene of violence. At the Sportitalia Arena in Carate Brianza, during halftime of the match between Folgore Caratese and Pavia, the home team's technical director, Daniele Paparusso, was attacked in the stands by a man later identified as the father of a young footballer.

The incident occurred at the end of the first half, immediately after Folgore doubled their lead. Paparusso, a former professional footballer now a manager at the Brianza-based club, was returning to the locker room when, according to the reconstruction, he turned toward the stands following shouts and insults. Moments later, a man ran down from the stands and punched him in the face, then attempted to kick him.

Footage from the stadium's surveillance cameras documented the attack, which occurred in front of numerous spectators and under the eyes of the stadium's law enforcement officers. Paparusso suffered a wound to his left eye and broken glasses, with blood visible on his face immediately after the attack. After receiving first aid and escorting him to the locker room, he nevertheless decided to file a complaint.

The attacker is believed to be the father of Giuseppe Pandullo, a young player who moved from Folgore Caratese to Pavia in January after a limited first half of the season. The Brianza-based club has provided the manager with video recordings from the facility and expressed its full solidarity, while previous incidents of tension have emerged that have allegedly involved the man in recent months.

It's unacceptable that things like this happen in the world of sport. There should be more safety for managers and everyone. Violence in a stadium cannot be allowed. I hope justice is done.
