Marano – In action with a crowbar and a hood over his head: Carabinieri from the Marano Mobile Radio Unit arrested Biagio Sperante, 29, already known to law enforcement. He was caught trying to force open a contraceptive vending machine installed outside a pharmacy on Via San Rocco.
Control and escape attempt
According to the reconstruction, at the sight of the soldiers the 29-year-old tried to run away, but was caught and stopped after a few moments.
Burglary tools and injured hands
During the investigation, the man was found in possession of several burglary tools. He also had injuries to his hands, believed to be consistent with using a crowbar to pry open the equipment.
Sperante was arrested on charges of attempted theft and transferred to a holding cell, awaiting trial.
