For the Frecciarossa Italian Cup match between Naples and Como, scheduled for tomorrow at 9:00 PM at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Metro Line 2 will extend service with an extraordinary plan of nighttime services. Trenitalia's Regionale, in agreement with the Campania Region and the City of Naples, will operate seven metro trains beyond their usual closing time, offering a total of more than 3.400 additional seats.
The special departures will take place from the Naples Campi Flegrei station, a key hub for the outflow of passengers from the Fuorigrotta area. Five trains will head to Naples San Giovanni-Barra, while two will connect Campi Flegrei to Pozzuoli, with the aim of distributing passenger flow and avoiding crowding on the platforms immediately after the final whistle. The advice to fans is clear: buy your ticket in advance to reduce waiting times and delays.
Increased security and assistance for travelers is also planned. At the Naples Piazza Garibaldi and Naples Campi Flegrei stations, there will be dedicated reception and security staff, with FS Security personnel and law enforcement officers managing access to trains. Only those with a valid ticket, which must be presented at security before entering the platform, will be allowed to board.
To further facilitate the return journey, the Napoli Campi Flegrei ticket office will remain open until the end of the sporting event, while the Piazza Leopardi station will close at 10:00 PM, as per the match-related security plan. This organizational structure is designed to ensure the safe and orderly return home of the thousands of fans expected at the Maradona stadium.
