In recent days, the Carabinieri of the Naples Borgo Loreto Station executed an order for the application of the precautionary measure of detention, issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The measure concerns a 51-year-old Neapolitan man, already known to law enforcement, who is seriously suspected of stalking his ex-partner.
The investigations: "violent and systematic" conduct
According to investigations coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office's 4th Investigation Section, the man allegedly engaged in repeated and aggressive stalking, linked to his refusal to accept the end of his romantic relationship.
The complaints reconstruct a sequence of repeated behaviors: insults, threats, including death threats, and physical assaults during the relationship, as well as further threatening and persecutory behavior after the woman's decision to end the relationship.
The episode of the fire in front of the house
The pressure and harassment allegedly caused the victim to experience a persistent state of anxiety and fear, with well-founded fears for her safety. The evidence also includes a particularly serious incident: the man allegedly set fire to a pile of rubbish at the entrance to the woman's home, aware—according to investigators—of the presence of gas cylinders, with the intent of starting a fire.
Arrest and prison, in addition to the contested recidivism
The 51-year-old, described as having a history of specific recidivism within the last five years, was located by the military and arrested. After the formalities were completed, he was taken to prison.
