Naples – The Municipality of Naples closed 2025 with a significant recovery in resources thanks to the work of the Local Police: €701.664,36 collected for security, traffic, and police services provided during privately organized events (concerts, sporting events, commercial and cultural initiatives).
This is a rigorous application of the principle according to which the costs of extraordinary services provided by the Corps should not burden the community, but should be borne by the organizers themselves. Revenue breakdown for 2025: In the first half of the year, revenue had already reached €355.859,98.
In the second half of the year, administrative and accounting checks resulted in the collection of a further €338.241,14, to which were added: €659,07 relating to events in 2024;
6.904,17 euros through registration.
Annual total: €701.664,36. Amounts still to be recovered: €30.595,45 remain to be collected. In the event of voluntary non-payment, the Municipality will proceed with forced collection by forwarding the debts to the collection agency.
A commitment to accounting accuracy "The result achieved," the Command's statement reads, "confirms the effectiveness of control activities and the application of the principle that the costs of extraordinary services provided during private events and initiatives should not be a burden on the community, but remain the responsibility of the event organizers."
This initiative is part of a process initiated in previous years with the approval of specific regulations, aimed at preventing citizens from paying for services related to for-profit or private initiatives. The positive trend in 2025 demonstrates that controls are now systematic and producing tangible results for the municipal coffers.

The article explains how Naples has made a lot of money thanks to the local police. But I don't understand why there are still sums to be recovered. Perhaps they weren't good enough to collect it all? And who pays the citizens?
