Naples – A joint operation took place between Piazza Mancini and Porta Nolana yesterday. Officers from the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station, along with members of the Guardia di Finanza and staff from the Naples Local Health Authority (ASL Napoli 1), combed key areas of the city center with widespread checks on people, vehicles, and businesses.

Illegal seller reported

Officers targeted a street vendor caught with 19 items of counterfeit clothing. The man was reported to the judicial authorities, while the counterfeit merchandise was seized. The operation is part of a crackdown on the illegal trade that proliferates in the city's tourist and commercial areas.

Four exercises under the lens

The checks also involved four businesses in the area. The businesses were charged with various violations, resulting in administrative fines totaling €4. One of the businesses inspected was temporarily closed due to the poor hygiene and sanitation conditions found by local health authority staff.

The balance of the operation

Overall, 75 people were identified and six vehicles were checked, with four drivers charged with traffic violations. The operation is part of a plan for extraordinary checks in critical areas of the historic center, where illegal commercial activity, irregular traffic, and poor hygiene and sanitation standards are common.
