Sessa Aurunca – Carabinieri from the Lauro station have reported two men at large for allegedly committing an online scam against a local citizen.

On the morning of Monday, February 9, 2026, the military formally reported to the Judicial Authorities a 39-year-old resident of Anzio (Rome) and a 25-year-old from Cancello ed Arnone (Caserta), accused of jointly committing the crime of fraud.

According to the Carabinieri's reconstruction of the facts, the two allegedly carried out a series of tricks and deceptions, convincing a man born in 1989 from Sessa Aurunca to make a bank transfer of 390 euros for the purchase of car parts on a website that simulated the activity of a car dismantling yard.

After making the payment, the victim never received the ordered goods, nor a refund or response from the alleged seller. The investigation, initiated following the complaint filed by the victim, allowed the Carabinieri to identify the alleged perpetrators of the scam, thus closing the loop and reporting them to the competent judicial authorities.

Incidents like this once again remind us of the risks associated with online purchases on unverified platforms: law enforcement recommends using certified channels, checking seller reviews, and being wary of overly advantageous offers.
