Anti-drug raid in the Vesuvian area: cocaine in the car and a kilo of hashish in the house.

State Police conducted a crackdown between Pompeii and Boscoreale: a 21-year-old man was arrested after being caught with the drugs ready for sale, and a 19-year-old man was reported for hiding a drug market in his home.

One arrest, one charge at large, and a significant drug seizure. This is the outcome of the latest "high-impact" operation conducted over the past twenty-four hours by officers from the Pompeii Police Station, part of the extraordinary operations deployed by the Naples Police Headquarters to curb drug dealing in the Vesuvian area.

Two very young people ended up in the crosshairs of law enforcement: a 21-year-old from Torre Annunziata and a 19-year-old from Boscoreale.

The roadblock on Via Nolana

The first intervention took place along Via Nolana, a major road connecting Pompeii and the surrounding municipalities. Officers, stationed at a checkpoint, ordered a car traveling toward Boscoreale, driven by a 21-year-old from Torre Annunziata, to stop.

The young man's behavior aroused the suspicions of the police, who conducted a personal search, finding a first package of cocaine and a 20-euro bill. Convinced that this wasn't all, the officers extended their search to the interior of the car.

Their hunch proved correct: hidden in the vehicle were 13 more packages of cocaine and €245 in cash, divided into small bills, likely the proceeds of drug dealing. The 21-year-old was immediately arrested.

The nose of police dogs and the seizure in Boscoreale

The operation continued in Boscoreale, where investigators focused their attention on the home of a 19-year-old local man. The young man was not home at the time of the raid, but the search—conducted in the presence of a family member—was successful thanks to the crucial support of the General Prevention Office's Canine Unit.

The drug-sniffing dogs sniffed out a veritable cache: 13 blocks of hashish weighing approximately one kilogram in total, as well as 5 grams of Indian hemp and various materials used to package the doses.

Feeling hunted, the 19-year-old soon after voluntarily presented himself at the Pompeii Police Station. He was reported to the Judicial Authorities for possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
