Late yesterday afternoon, officers from the Pompeii State Police Station executed a precautionary detention order issued by the preliminary investigations judge of the Torre Annunziata Court, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, against a man seriously suspected of domestic abuse, attempted extortion, and aggravated assault against his mother.

A coexistence marked by violence and threats

According to the investigation, the man allegedly subjected his mother to repeated harassment, violence, and threats, making her life particularly difficult and forcing her to live in a climate of constant fear and ongoing anxiety for her safety.

Daily requests for money

In particular, the suspect allegedly demanded sums of money from the woman on a daily basis in order to purchase narcotics, reacting with aggressive and violent behavior if she refused.

The attack of January 3th

The most serious incident occurred on January 3, 2026, in Pompeii. After his mother refused to hand over the money he had demanded, the man allegedly physically assaulted her, pushing her, squeezing her neck, and chasing her to the entrance hall of the building. There, he allegedly repeatedly punched her in the head, only stopping the violence when several passersby intervened.

The investigation and arrest

The investigation, initiated after the victim's complaint and coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, was also based on the acquisition and analysis of images from various video surveillance systems. The evidence gathered allowed us to outline a framework of serious evidence of guilt, deemed sufficient to warrant the adoption of the precautionary measure.

The transfer to prison

After completing the formal procedures, the suspect was taken to the Giuseppe Salvia prison in Naples-Poggioreale.

The subject of the article is very serious and touching, but many things remain unclear. How could this individual have done all this for so long without being apprehended? I hope justice is served.
