Another hit on drug dealing in the centre of Naples. Last morning the State Police arrested two men, aged 26 and 35, both Neapolitans and already known to law enforcement, accused of complicity in the illegal possession of narcotics. The operation took place in the area of Porta Capuana, which has long been under scrutiny for petty crime and drug dealing.

Officers from the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station, engaged in specific territorial control operations, observed a suspicious transaction in Vico dei Candelari: two men were passing something to a young man in exchange for a banknote. They intervened immediately to stop the activity and prevent the sale from taking place.

The arrest of the two alleged drug dealers was not easy and required decisive intervention by the officers. At the end of the operation, the 35-year-old was found in possession of a package containing cocaine, while the 26-year-old was found to be carrying €445 in cash, divided into bills of various denominations and believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing. The buyer, however, managed to slip away into the alleys and disappear without a trace.

The two men were arrested and placed in handcuffs. The incident confirms law enforcement's constant vigilance in a sensitive area of the city, where checks continue to curb drug dealing and restore safety to residents and business owners.
