A coordinated operation by Carabinieri officers from the Castello di Cisterna Company and the Sarno Dog Unit targeted the public housing complexes, with searches extending to common areas and condominiums. The operation focused on the heart of Fiordaliso Park in Somma Vesuviana, where the most significant find was made.

The arsenal in the ghost apartment

Inside an uninhabited apartment, the officers discovered a veritable arsenal: two sawed-off shotguns, a 7.65 caliber pistol with the serial number erased, and 15 12-gauge cartridges. Alongside the weapons, a large quantity of drugs was found: 290 doses of crack cocaine and two precision scales, along with all the packaging materials.

Checks in Brusciano and Marigliano

The raid extended to the residential complex known as "Rione 219" in Brusciano. A stolen 7.65 caliber pistol was found and seized in a condominium area, along with 10 doses of cocaine and 103 doses of hashish. In Marigliano, on Via Pontecitra, the investigation led to the seizure of an additional 11 doses of hashish.

Ballistic investigations underway

All the seized weapons were sealed and will now be subjected to ballistic and fingerprint tests. Investigators will need to determine whether they were used in incidents of violence or bloodshed in the area, a crucial step in reconstructing possible links to organized crime or the black market for weapons. The operation demonstrates law enforcement's focus on combating urban decay and small-time dealing in working-class neighborhoods.
