Roma leaves the Maradona stadium with a point and the feeling of having left something behind. Gian Piero Gasperini doesn't hide his disappointment after the 2-2 draw against Napoli, especially for a finale that could have been handled better.
"We had an excellent approach to the match, as always throughout this championship. Unfortunately, we're leaving tonight with a bit of disappointment. Today, we probably lacked a bit of malice towards the end. We often finish games with these guys who need to grow, get more minutes, and develop their personality," the Giallorossi coach told DAZN. A clear-eyed analysis, combining satisfaction with the performance and an awareness of the limitations that still need to be addressed.
Malen was once again the star of the show, scoring a brace that gave Roma the lead twice. Gasperini was blunt in his assessment of the striker's impact: "If we had him from the start of the season, we'd probably have a few more points, but the team is improving regardless. I've always been convinced of him; he has the perfect attacking qualities. Today, it wasn't easy, even with the penalty against a goalkeeper like Milinkovic, but he did well."
All eyes are already on the coming weeks and a potential leap in attack. "If we can get Dybala back and have Soulé in better condition, we can still improve," Gasperini concluded, implying that Roma hasn't yet reached its full potential.

The match was interesting, and Roma showed some good things, but there were also mistakes that could have been avoided. The boys need to work harder to improve and grow as a team.
